It's been two years since I started low carb and I am embarassed to admit that I still have not reached my goal weight. It just seems that I let life's inevitable stresses make me revert back to my old eating patterns. A one time cheat becomes weeks or months. Seriously it is harder to get back on track than to just sit with those feelings of wanting to scarf down all the carbs on a buffet table. This is what I want for the next 8 months left in 2010.

If dieting was easy no one would be fat and the diet industry would not introduce a new gimmick or product for quick, easy weight loss every five seconds. The secret to losing weight is perseverance. Without this you will keep gaining and re-losing the same 20, 50, 100 or more pounds over and over.

Temptation from trans fat goodies and treats is everywhere. The key is to remind yourself why you are not going to induldge. This can be easier said than done especially when the scale is not moving, but eating these frankenfoods is not going to speed up your efforts.
In fact it may derail you for more than one meal. Be strong and remember that the food you used to consume got you to the size you are today.
In order to be the size you want tommorrow you have to be willing to sacrifice the temporary pleasure and delicious taste sugary and carby snacks provide.
So what happened? I know so many of you have been asking and all I can say is I have been extremely busy. Did a lot of traveling in the past 6 months and just have not had a chance to get back on here.
Not to mention my web host company www.bluevirtual.com quit responding to support tickets, quit answering their phones and took down their support forum, yet still collected my funds.
I have a new web hosting company who works to make sure everything is working and their response time is great too.
Nonetheless I am looking forward to taking a break this holiday and continue amazing my freinds with the amount of bacon I get to eat.

July 1st marks the start of the last 6 months of 2009. Since I like schedules and dates so much I thought this would be a good marker for anyone who has been struggling like I was in the month of June.
Lets start July focused on getting healthier for the last 6 months of the year rather than dwelling on any screw ups, cheats, etc we did for the first half of the year.
Let's face it the first half of the year has pretty much been less than stellar with bad news on the television, swine flu fears, etc. Maybe all of this negativity has caused you to just say the heck with it and start an all out binge fest.
It doesn't matter because that was then and this is now (a great movie from the 80's by the way). So if you have been looking for a reason to get back on your program here it is. For the next 6 months lets all work towards changing our lives. One pound of fat at a time.
